The use of an image to promote your product or service online is very useful and helps visitors to your website find what they are interested in.

The images that you choose with play an important part in the overall impact of the design and marketing message you are trying to achieve.

It will also play an integral part of the users browsing experience on your website.

Once you have chosen the image you wish to use it is critical that you rename, tag and resize the photo to ensure faster loading times, visual effect and better organic ranking results within search engines like Google.

Using original images will yield the best results as they will reflect the exact product or service you are trying to promote. Over use of stock images that are free or commonly used will negatively effect on your organic search ranking.

Resizing your images to suit your design will help the flow of information and the overall impact on design, but the most important part of resizing is to reduce the image down to 800 x 600  pixels which is substantially less than a typical 5mb smartphone photo.

Images that are reduced to 800 x 600 pixels will allow your pages to load quicker and be more responsive, which helps with organic search ranking.

The main benefit of optimised images will be that it creates a far better user experience for visitors to you site which encourages them to stay longer and ultimately earn more revenue for your business.

While a picture may paint a thousand words, a picture that is used and formatted correctly will enhance your website design, your business, your product or service and your reputation.
